Part 1: Opioid Abatement for Jails: From Settlement Funding to Programming:

This training equips county jail administrators, program coordinators, and other jail-based county officials with a working understanding of Tennessee’s opioid settlement funding structure and a practical menu of evidence-based jail programs for addressing substance use disorder (SUD). Participants will learn how opioid settlement funds flow to counties and how to apply grant-writing best practices. They will then review a curated set of program options for jails, including overdose prevention, treatment, recovery support, and reentry services, and what these services can be expected to cost, as well as potential implementation timelines and expected outcomes per program. The session concludes with an applied exercise in which participants evaluate a hypothetical client, assess their jail’s existing services, and identify potential new programs feasible and proportional to available county opioid abatement funding.

Part 2: Building Blocks of a Proposal: From Idea to Impact Grant Writing Workshop:
